Day 4! After our morning meeting, in which we briefly discussed each of our projects, Alexa and I went to our workplace. There, we spent the entire morning working on our projects. After finishing the third version of our Spectroscopy Write-Up, that was finished. I created a chart of the emission spectra of the most common elements, as well as a detailed powerpoint explaining the process of spectroscopy (which is under review by Kristina). I came up with two new projects, Build-Your-Own-Sundial and Distances-In-Space, one of which I created a write-up for.
At noon, Kristina invited Alexa and me to the Astronomy Group Meeting, in which several undergraduate and graduate students presented their work. Alongside them was Matt, who we will be working with on our research project. There were free subs and free cookies.
Afterwards, Alexa and I continued our project work until 4:30. In addition to the Spectroscopy powerpoint, I created a Slide Show explaining the importance of nebulae, as well as showing pictures of the more prominent ones. As of now, we have 4 write-ups completed, about half of them have a powerpoint alongside them.
