Day 6 of the internship! After a very brief meeting with the rest of the interns, Alexa and I went back to programming. With the outreach projects done, the entire morning was spent on CodeCademy, perfecting the art of Python. While we did encounter several frustrating problems, together with Matt we were able to solve all of them.
At noon we went to lunch, were we saw several of the other interns. I had a meatball parmesan sub, which gave me enough energy to get me through the rest of the day.
After lunch, we continued programming. I am happy to say I am done with 97% of the course, although most of it was review from AP Computer Science A. We also saw Prof. Dr. Joel Kastner for the very first time. Kristina sent us a spreadsheet with incomprehensible data for 53 different stars, along with a website which would help us analyze the numbers. However, other than the RA (right ascension), the DEC (declination), and the date of discovery we were unable to learn anything about the stars.
